CST Studio Suite® technology provides access to multiple electromagnetic (EM) simulation solvers, which use numerical methods such as the finite element method (FEM), the finite integration technique (FIT), and the transmission line matrix method (TLM). These represent a collection of extremely powerful general purpose solvers for high frequency simulation tasks and are an ideal solution for the design analysis and optimization of a wide variety of devices. Relevant applications are for instance antennas. microwave filters, transmission Iines and transitions. MRI and implanted devices in the field of bio·electromagnetics and electrically large and highly resonant structures.
The Time Domain solvers is our first choice for broadband traveling-wave components, whereas the Frequency Domain solver (that also includes model order reduction technology) provides great benefits in terms of simulation accuracy verses speed.
The covered frequency range extends from microwave to the visible light for the analysis of optical devices, which are becoming key components in communications, remote sensing, or medical applications.
CST Studio Suite technology can help engineers to design, analyze and improve PCB layouts maintaining signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI) and to comply with electromagnetic capability (EMC) norms.
CST Studio Suite includes FEM solvers dedicated to static and low-frequency applications such as the electromechanical devices, transformers, or sensors. In addition, simulation methods for charged particle dynamics, electronics, and multiphysics problems are available.
CST Studio Suite comes with a large library of "ready to use" material models, which cover different application areas, e.g. magnetic materials for low-frequency projects and high-performance dielectrics or lossy metals for high frequency/microwave applications.
